Gentle Ayurvedic Cleanse

A 3-week protocol  designed to support gentle detoxification and rejuvenation of  body, mind and spirit

Your body is designed to rid itself of accumulated wastes every day. But because of periodic poor habits, eating in ways that aren't ideal, periods of high stress, travel, etc, this doesn't always happen well.  Taking a few weeks to re-begin good daily hygiene, while lightening the diet, eliminating the "bad stuff," and bringing in more of the good stuff is an effective way of supporting your body in digesting toxicity while rebooting digestive function. 

In this 3 week protocol, we'll take a week to prepare, a week to cleanse, and a week to return and rejuvenate for a healthy season ahead.

Āyurveda has a long history of effective food-based cleansing. Rather than stripping the body clear, this gentle approach allows the body to easily release the excesses of the previous season, while also rebooting digestive function for the time ahead. Here's how it works:

 

Register for the Cleanse

  • Receive a link to schedule a 30 minute, pre-cleanse consult with Shannon.

  • Receive a supply list and instructions on ordering your supplies.

  • Schedule your three week period.

Preparation (Week 1)

  • After meeting with Shannon, listen to a recording orienting you to preparation week. 

  • Read through and follow the preparation week guidelines in your cleanse manual and follow the protoclsso you know what to do each day.

Gentle Food Based Cleanse (Week 2)

  • Listen to the second live-stream class to orient you to the cleanse. 

  • Begin the 5 - 7  day cleansing diet.

  • Read through and follow the cleanse week guideline in your manual. Rest and relax as much as possible: yoga nidrā, meditation, journaling, couch time, easy reading, easeful walks outdoors...

  • Engage the gentle detoxification protocols over the weekend (optional--Shannon and you will discuss in pre-cleanse consult)

Ease Back to your New Normal (Week 3)​​

  • Listen to the third class recording to receive orientation to the ease back week. 

  • Read the Ease back section of your manual, and follow the guidelines all week.

  • Access the Cleanse Course page for an additional 30 days.

FAQ’s
 

Q.  Will I be able to work during the cleanse?
A. YES! This reset is designed for you to be able to engage your normal work activities. At the same time, for maximum benefit, we recommend taking as much down time as possible, especially during cleanse week. 

 

Q. Will I be hungry during the cleanse ?
A.  You’ll  be eating a whole foods diet before and after cleanse week, and a spiced stew during cleanse week, so you shouldn't be tired. At the same time, it's normal to deal with cravings for some of the foods you reduce or eliminate during the program. We' ve added in some delicious teas and wholesome snacks, as needed. 

 

Q.  What if I have my period?
A.  You can engage the cleansing diet during your period.  During the heavier days of your cycle, we will give you an appropriate asana practice, and have you refrain from the oiling practices until you’re in a lighter phase of your cycle.

 

Q.  Can I cleanse if I'm sick?
A. NO. If you’re ill, we’ll adjust the timing of your cleanse to begin once you’re fully recovered. The cleanse is appropriate a moon's cycle AFTER you're  fully recovered.

Q. I'm trying to get pregnant, or am pregnant now. Is the cleanse appropriate for me?

A. NO. If you're trying to get pregnant or pregnant now, the cleanse is not for you. However if you're wanting to get pregnant in the near future, and won't be trying for a few months, the cleanse is an excellent preparation for conception. 
 

Q. I'm a lighter body type, and don't want to lose too much weight. Is the cleanse appropriate for me?

A. YES! Shannon will be spending a little time with each participant 1 - 1 and can help customize the cleansing diet so you will not lose too much weight.
