Fall into Balance
Day Retreat in Port Town
send
Saturday, Oct 14th, 2023
10 am - 5 pm
(with a lunch break)

Fall is a time of letting go, a shift from the expansiveness of summer harvest to the quiet of longer nights and the movement underground to replenish at the roots.

In this mid autumn time, we'll come together for a full day of yoga practice, aligned with seasonal emphasis on calming the nervous system and supporting bone health. Chanting, meditation and self-inquiry will round out our practice. During our retreat we'll explore themes of grounding, simplicity, going inwards and letting go.

Fall Residential Retreat
Oct 17  -  20, 2024

at Aldermarsh
Whidbey Island, WA

Transition into Fall with a long weekend reset at Aldermarsh Center on Whidbey Island. The land here has been stewarded with deep love and respect for years, and we are grateful to be able to return again next year.

Fall is the season first of harvest and then of letting go as we prepare for Winter. This retreat is an opportunity to support and strengthen your body in preparation for the seasonal shift ahead.

Each day you will practice morning meditation to set a template of calm presence for the day. Slow strengthening asana will awaken and mobilize you during the late morning. Afternoon Yin and restorative asana will calm and harmonize you on all levels.  Long shavasanas post practice and yoga nidra in the evening will restore and replenish your deepest reserves (ojas) connected to strong immunity and vitality as we move towards winter, as well as supporting restful sleep.

Breathwork, guided self-inquiry, periods of noble silence and ayurvedic teachings (including a guided self-oil massage followed by a wood-fired sauna) will support you in getting more grounded in your present-moment experience, calming your nervous system and allowing a space for personal insight to arise.

Shannon will offer sunrise and sunset ceremonial fires (agni hotra) to further support our group’s attunement to natural rhythms.

Afternoons will be open for rest, reflection, walks, soaks, massage or a good nap. CEU’s available for yoga teachers.

YOGA, MEDITATION, AND AYURVEDA

At the end of our time together, you can expect to return to your life at home more in touch with yourself, more present and resourced, more available to connect with the natural world and other humans and happier than you were when you arrived.
